Silo Stabilization
As part of the silo strengthening project Talos General Construction had to stabilize 6 silos after carrying out structural inspections and found out that 2 of the 6 were in the brink of collapsing. The 2 silos were immediately decommissioned. After careful analysis by the Talos engineering, it was to secure all the six silos together and stabilize the affected silos to avoid potential damage. The process involved securing the silos with metal straps, holding them together. Thereafter, the stabilization essential involved creating the a foundation for the 2 silos but also ensuring that the structural settlement would not affect the existing structure.
